Starfish is run completely by volunteers, mostly locally. We do not use kennels, but foster homes. We are a small rescue that has organically grown slowly over the years with the support of local people, and people have adopted from us and our Vets. We are a small rescue trying to make a difference and do things properly. This series introduces you to the nemesis of our Yowie friends, the villains that Rumble, Squish, Ditty, Boof, Crag and Nap are always ready, willing and able to thwart in order to protect the habitats they watch over and the animals that depend on the preservation of those habitats to survive. Starfish Animal Rescue is a licensed rescue that is run by an all volunteer staff. Once we rescue a dog or cat, it is placed in one of our foster homes until we are able to find it a suitable home. We are happy to set up an appointment to meet our pets once we receive and review your completed application.
At Pete’s Aquariums & Fish we stock a variety of Starfish for your aquarium community including: Red Serpent Starfish, Red Sea Stars, Sand Sifting Sea Star, Cushion Starfish, Banded Brittle Starfish, Pink Sea Stars, and more.
Starfish are popular additions to reef aquariums that contain live sand. They will constantly stir the bed and provide oxygen to beneficial bacteria. In the aquarium they can be fed small pieces of fish, placing the food near or even under the Sea Star.
